Churchill and Johnson @ Home
Home users can have a hard time when it comes to looking after their computers, unlike office users there is no IT department they can call when something goes wrong. You are left looking at some incomprehensible error message wondering if your computer will ever run again.
This is where Churchill and Johnson come in, we started Churchill and Johnson to help home users, having seen the struggle our friends and relatives had when their computers went wrong. Our motto is 'computing for mere mortals', which sums up what we are about. We want to help you make best use of your computer in your home without it costing the earth, the home users IT department!
When things go wrong
Repairs and Re-installations
It seems to be almost inevitable that something will go wrong with your computer, even with our pre-emptive maintenance and servicing, parts will still fail, and if you are very unlucky you may get hit with a virus.
When problems strike one of our experienced engineers can come and look at your computer, in your own home. If the engineer can they will fix your computer while they are with you.
If our engineer can't fix your computer during their visit to your home, they can bring the computer into our workshop for repairs. Once the computer is repaired we will return it to you, and our engineer will make sure it is fully reconnected and working before they leave it.
Computer Cleanups
After you have had a computer for a while, you may start to feel it's not running as well as it did when you got it, it somehow seems slower, but you can't put your finger on why. Many of the computer programmes that you run create residual background processes that help run that programme more efficiently. Often these background processes are left running just in case you still want to run them again.
Over time these background processes consume more and more of the computer resources until the computer runs out of resources and has to stall some jobs to run others. When this happens it is time to have a clean up and get rid of the programmes that you don't need.
A computer clean up is a relatively simple process. Contact us for more details.
Getting Started
Getting a new computer is always an event, how much hassle it is depends on a number of things, how experienced you are, how much data you have stored on your old computer, even how physically flexible you are. At Churchill and Johnson we offer startup services to cover all the tasks you will need to carry out to setup a new computer, we can even help you with training.
Computer Setup
Getting a new computer is great, faster with more features, but setting it up can be a problem. Especially if you aren't confident doing this, or have difficulties bending and lifting.
This is why we have our computer setup service, it is for anyone who dosn't have the time, the experience or the mobility needed to set their computer up themselves.
One of our experienced engineers will come to your home, have your computer setup without delay and offer you any assistance you need to get up and running with your new computer.
Data Transfer
When you get a new computer, or simply retire an old work horse you will find you have a lot of files and settings you want transferred from your old computer to your new one.
This is where our data transfer service comes in, we can simply and easily transfer your settings, documents, emails and address books from your old computer to your new one.
We take the pain out of a process that can leave many users with a confused pile of CD's wondering if they have got all the information they needed, wondering how to transfer that last piece of information, and frequently typing addresses and other details back in from printouts.
Training
One to One Startup Training
New computers can be difficult to get to grips with, especially if you have been using your old computer for many years, or perhaps you have just got your first computer, or you're used to the computers at work and they are nothing like your new computer at home.
Churchill and Johnson's 'one to one' startup training helps anyone struggling to get to grips with their new computer. We can take you through on a guided program, starting with everyday programs and working through all the settings that no one ever tells you about but make your life so much easier.
With one of our experienced trainer-engineers helping you, you will soon be finding your way confidently around your computer. You may want to be careful who you tell though, you may well end up helping all your friends and neighbours
